3. Fish

Visual plastics grows from some kind of mix included barbarian decoration of III-VIII Centuries and [paradoxally] Soviet Utopian avant-garde.
Animal style. Barbarian art. Incrustation.
Article «Visit of Barbarians» was inspired by the exhibition The Age of the Merovingians  - were published in the «Deco» Magazine, 2007 on art treasures of Barbarian invasion epoch (Early Middle Ages).

Salaries of old codexes in the Moscow Kremlin Armoury - cups, bowls, hilts of swords, precious harness horses, brooches, hryvnia, belt buckle decorated with garnets, almandine, pearls: everywhere we see the desire to cram the complete world into a small volume, to save in safety, protect from any accidents the most cherished items in a rapidly changing world.

This painting had conceived and begun in the forest lodge during the international "Plein air-2008" in Bakota, on the Dniester-river, Ukraine when there were long, protracted September rains, under sounds of the Dante's "Inferno" in MP3 format.
